Each participant will be provided with a Japanese Hinoki Cypress, a bonsai pot and bonsai soil to create a small bonsai. Bonsai professional Brian Kelly will give you a brief outline on the origins of bonsai then he will instruct you how to create a Hinoki Cypress bonsai. Brian is a seasoned bonsai artist with over two decades of experience cultivating and styling these miniature trees. Brian's achievements include the prestigious ABS North American Bonsai Award at the 2021 U.S. National Bonsai Exhibition and the Exhibit Committee Award at the 2016 MidAtlantic Bonsai Festival. At the workshop, all tools needed will be provided, but please feel free to bring clippers and any tools that you have.
